Baik Mari kita pelajari tentang materi ini dengan bahasa
inggris (maksudnya belajar mengartikan sambil belajar tentang materi)
SPOOF
Definition : Spoff is a text which has an
unexpected and funny ending. In other word , spoof is a text which tells what happened in the
past unpredictable and funny ending.
Porpuse :
- To tell an amusing story about someone or something.
- To retell an event with a humorous twist.
General Structure

Orientation (Provides the setting and introduces
the characters.)

Event (Tells the happening in chronogical
order.)

Twist (Close the event with unepected and funny
ending.)

The Phone Is Off

Soon
after he left college , Dave found one of his uncles who was very rich and had
no children of his own died and left him a lot of money , so he decided to set
up his own real estate agency.
(EVENT 1)
Dave
found a nice office. He bought some new furniture and moved in, he had only
been there for a few hours when he heard someone coming toward the door of his
office.

“It must be my first costumer, “
Dave thought. He quickly picked up the telephone and pretented to be very busy
answering an important call for someone in New York who wanted to buy a big and
expensive house in the country.
(TWIST)
The man knocked the door while this
was going on. He came in and waited politely for Dave to finish his
conversation on the phone. Then the man said to Dave, “I am from the telephone
company and I was sent here to connect your telephone.”

How to Differentiate
between Spoof and Recount
Spoof is almost the same with Recount. Both explore
informative text about past experience. They focuss on series of events. However
, Spoof text aims to amuse the readers. The end of Spoof story is Twist. It is
unpredictable thing. Most Spoof stories have funny Twist. Sometimes people are
also difficult to differentiate Spoof and Anectode. The pourpose of anectode is
to share with other an account of an unusual or amusing incidents. It is
usually real life incidents, real person, and in real place. The different can
be seen from the us of rhetorical questions.
